MISSION STATEMENT
It is the mission of the Jefferson County Public Health Department to optimize the health of the community by promoting healthy lifestyles, preventing and controlling disease, injury and disability. In carry out its mission, the Jefferson County Public Health Department will:
◊ Assure that appropriate public health activities are carried out in the community.
◊ Lead and assist in the development of sound and comprehensive policies in matters related to health.
◊ Develop and maintain the resources and capacity to respond appropriately to public health crises.
◊ Enforce public health standards according to laws and statutes.
