Ongoing Meetings in community related to Veterans: American Legion Post 125 meets usually the 3rd Thursday at 1900/7pm at Madras Senior Center located at 860 SW Madison. Veterans have earned certain benefits as a result of their military service. Survivors and dependents of veterans may also have benefits available. However, these benefits are available only to those who apply for them.
The purpose of the Jefferson County Veterans Service Office is to provide assistance to Jefferson County veterans, their dependents and survivors in obtaining local, state and federal veterans' benefits to which they are entitled.
The Veterans' Service Office assists in obtaining benefits by:
1. Advising those eligible on benefits available through local, state and federal veterans' programs.
2. Helping obtain supporting evidence and public records.
3. Filing appropriate forms and providing follow-up.
4. Assisting in filing appeals and gathering new evidence.
To help Jefferson County veterans, their dependents and survivors obtain their benefits as efficiently and courteously as possible.

24 hour work week, Jefferson County. W (scheduled appnt's),Th (outreach), Fri (walk in & home visits)
The Jefferson County Veterans Service Office is located at the Jefferson County Senior Center , 860 SW Madison, Madras; Madras Senior Center, and is open on Tuesday (w/Volunteer) while the office is staffed Wednesdays for scheduled appointments from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Patricia White, County Veterans Service Officer provides weekly outreach on Thursdays (subject to change).

HOME VISITS available for elderly senior people with disabilities or those with medical mobility restrictions.
